Laani Teetsov (née Heinar) is a designer, artist, and illustrator from Toronto, Canada.
In her work, she illuminates the boundary between the playful and the mystical.
Across media, she uses a balance of abstraction and representation, to give her work a loose and dynamic quality. Themes that inspire her include nature, folklore, and her Estonian and Finnish roots.
She has a background in fine arts, with a BFA in Textile & Fashion Design from NSCAD University.
Among her freelance design work, she has been featured by CBC Arts and Uppercase magazine. Her paintings have been exhibited and sold in both Canada and the UK. She also co-wrote and illustrated a children’s picture book, Pumpkin and Stretch , which was released in 2020.
Her creations seek the magic that can be found in the ordinary world.
